Primary School Playground Markings — Lincolnshire
Thermoplastic playground markings for a primary school in Lincolnshire — number grids, alphabet trails, hopscotch, and a multi-sport court — installed during the summer holidays and ready for the new term.
About This Project
A primary school in Lincolnshire commissioned Markex to transform their playground with thermoplastic markings. The school's playground had no markings and the headteacher wanted to create an engaging outdoor learning environment that would encourage physical activity and support curriculum learning. The work needed to be completed during the summer holidays to avoid any disruption to pupils.

The school's playground was a blank concrete surface with no markings. The headteacher wanted to maximise the educational and physical activity value of the space, but the playground had an irregular shape that made layout planning complex. The work needed to be completed and fully cured before the start of the new term.
How Markex Delivered
Markex worked with the school's headteacher to design a playground layout that maximised the available space. A site visit was carried out during the summer term to take measurements and discuss the school's requirements. The final design included educational games, a multi-sport court, and a running track. Bright thermoplastic markings were applied over two days during the summer holidays, with all markings fully cured before the new term began.
What We Achieved
- Full playground marked in two days during summer holidays
- Educational games including number grids, alphabet trails, and hopscotch
- Multi-sport court for football, basketball, and netball
- Running track and fitness circuit added
- Thermoplastic markings with 7–10 year expected lifespan
