About Markex
Markex is a specialist line marking contractor operating across the whole of the United Kingdom. We deliver commercial line marking services to facilities management companies, property managers, logistics operators, retailers, and industrial businesses.
Our teams are equipped to handle contracts of any scale — from a single car park refurbishment to a nationwide planned maintenance programme covering dozens of sites. We provide a single point of contact, consistent workmanship standards, and full documentation on every contract.
We work across all surface types and environments: open-air car parks, multi-storey car parks, warehouses, distribution centres, industrial estates, retail parks, hospitals, schools, and private roads.
Commercial Sectors We Serve
Commercial Line Marking Services
Nationwide Coverage
Our teams operate across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. We cover all major cities and regions including London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Sheffield, Liverpool, Bristol, Edinburgh, Cardiff, and all points between. No site is too remote.
Working Methods
We use industry-standard materials and equipment appropriate to each surface type and environment.
Thermoplastic Marking
Hot-applied thermoplastic is our primary material for external road and car park markings. It provides excellent durability, high visibility, and long service life on asphalt and concrete surfaces.
Water-Based Paint
Fast-drying water-based traffic paint is used for internal warehouse and car park markings, playground markings, and situations where rapid return to service is required.
Epoxy Floor Coating
Two-part epoxy systems are used for heavy-duty industrial floor markings in warehouses, factories, and distribution centres where forklift traffic and chemical resistance are required.
Line Removal
We remove existing markings using shot blasting, mechanical grinding, or scarifying as appropriate to the surface. All removed material is collected and disposed of responsibly.
Anti-Skid Surfacing
Coloured aggregate anti-skid systems are applied to pedestrian crossings, cycle lanes, and high-risk areas using resin-bound or thermoplastic carriers.
Health & Safety
All Markex operatives work to a documented safe system of work. We produce method statements and risk assessments for every contract, suitable for submission to FM procurement and compliance teams.
We carry full public liability insurance and employers' liability insurance. Copies of our insurance certificates are available on request.
Our teams are trained in manual handling, working at height, COSHH, and traffic management. We comply with all relevant HSE guidance and British Standards including BS 8300 (accessibility) and BS EN 1436 (road marking materials).
For occupied sites, we implement appropriate traffic management and pedestrian segregation measures. Out-of-hours working is available to minimise disruption to your operations.
